David Paterson

Managing Director

David is a specialist in strategy and innovation. He works with senior leaders across the public, private and non-profit sectors in Australia and internationally. He is also an Adjunct Professor specialising in Innovation & Enterprise, and a Williamson Community Leadership Fellow.

David has served as the Chief Innovation Officer of World Vision, Australia’s and the world’s largest international aid and development NGO, with more than 40,000 staff across 90 countries. Earlier he was the chief marketing officer of that organisation, his team raising almost $1 billion over 4 years. Earlier, David had a successful private sector career as a senior executive and management consultant specialising in strategic growth and innovation:

  • Chief Marketing Officer of Australia’s largest private health insurer, with more than 3 million members and $3 billion in revenues;
  • Chief Strategy Officer of one of the largest advertising and marketing agency groups in Australasia, and Regional Director of Strategy for the Asia – Pacific region;
  • Global Chief Strategy Officer of one of the world’s largest international digital agency groups, with a blue chip multinational client base;
  • Director, Business Consulting with one of the Big 5 international management consultancies.

He is also extensively involved in social impact initiatives, including:

  • Co-founder of the Social Capital network;
  • A patron of Sight for All, an NGO addressing blindness in the developing world
  • A former board director of one of the world’s largest YMCA associations, with some 150 centres, 6,000 staff and 14 million user visits p.a.
